Henan University Architectural Model Contest ended successfully

On October 24, 2020, the architectural model competition of Henan University was successfully held in the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture. There are 12 teams participating in this competition.

The theme of this competition, "Zhu Yu", aims to express the artistic conception of poetry and song in architectural language. Architecture is a solidified art, an important symbol to show traditional Chinese culture, and a medium for the ancients to communicate with us. The construction takes the competition group as the unit, the topic selection is based on the ancient poets and songs, and the conceptual themes are extracted from them, and completed through designated materials, limited space and time. Through the virtual representation of BIM and the physical construction of the space, it expresses the conception and space experience of the work, and expresses the understanding and application of materials, structure and construction. At 8 o'clock in the morning, the game officially began, and the participating teams quickly entered the state and began to compete with time and opponents.

At 5 pm, the closing ceremony of the Henan University Architectural Model Competition was held in the Structural Laboratory Building of the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture. The competition awards were divided into one first prize, two second prizes, five third prizes and four outstanding prizes. Deputy Dean Zhang Dawei made a concluding speech. He once again expressed his sincere gratitude to the Youth League Committee of the college, the various departments of the Student Union and volunteers, and affirmed the efforts of the participating teams and congratulated them for their excellent results. He said that the teamwork spirit shown by everyone in the competition is very commendable, and a comprehensive competition like this is very meaningful for college students. He also encouraged college students to participate in such competitions, and pointed out that the architectural model competition not only can improve students' enthusiasm for learning, but also enable students to learn teamwork spirit and hands-on skills during the competition.
