Recently, the 14th "Challenge Cup" extracurricular academic and technological works competition for college students in Henan Province, jointly held by the Communist Youth League Henan Provincial Committee, Henan Provincial Department of science and technology, Henan Provincial Department of education, Henan Provincial Association of science and technology, and Henan students' Federation, came to an end. Our college won two first prizes (six in Henan University), one second prize, and one third prize.

This competition has a wide range of entries. College students, undergraduates and postgraduates (excluding on-the-job postgraduates) of all kinds of full-time non adult education colleges and universities in our province who are officially registered before June 1, 2019 can declare their works to participate in the competition. The entries are divided into three categories: natural science academic papers, philosophy and social science social survey reports and academic papers, and scientific and technological invention production. After receiving the notice, the College of civil engineering and architecture actively prepared for the competition and organized students to apply. In the fierce competition, "cast steel bifurcation node based on topology optimization and 3D printing integration technology" designed by Wang Longxuan and other students (Instructor: Du Wenfeng), "easy to get" - an ecological water-saving toilet "designed by Wang Jincheng and other students (Instructor: Li Jing and Liang chunhang) won the first prize; and" an ecological water-saving toilet for ocean ring "designed by Li Rongxiang and other students won the first prize Fiber composite pile and its preparation method in Jingjing (Instructor: Zhang Jianwei) won the second prize; research and development of structural load relaxation device (Instructor: Du Wenfeng, Xu Guixiang) designed by Liang Zhanhua and other students won the third prize.

The success of the competition further guides the majority of college students to cultivate their scientific spirit and attitude, actively learn scientific knowledge and improve their comprehensive quality.
