Brief introduction to the College of civil engineering and architecture

The predecessor of the school of civil engineering and architecture of Henan University is the Department of civil engineering, which was established in 1931. In 1987, the school resumed the establishment of the Department of Arts and crafts and architectural engineering. In 1994, the Department of architectural engineering was established separately. In 2002, the school of civil engineering and architecture was established. Located in the newly built Jinming campus of Henan University, the college has three teaching and experimental buildings with a total construction area of more than 20000 square meters. The college consists of Department of civil engineering, Department of architecture, Institute of materials and structure, Institute of technological architectural design, Institute of ancient architecture and landscape architecture, teaching and Research Office of adult education, architectural education and training center, etc. The laboratory includes civil engineering foundation laboratory, geotechnical engineering laboratory, building and structure CAD laboratory, structural engineering laboratory, building structure reliability testing and evaluation laboratory, and engineering innovation practice base for civil engineering college students. The civil engineering foundation test center is the experimental teaching demonstration center of Henan Province, and the total value of laboratory equipment has exceeded 16 million yuan. At present, there are more than 1200 undergraduate students majoring in four-year civil engineering, five-year architecture and urban and rural planning. The civil engineering major is the pilot major of Engineering Education in Henan Province. Since 2001, the college has started to recruit and train master's degree candidates, with three master's degree authorization points of civil engineering, materials science and design science.

At present, the college has more than 90 teaching staff and more than 70 professional teachers, including 35 with doctoral degree and doctoral degree, 2 Yellow River scholars, 1 special Professor, 17 professors, 25 associate professors, 4 backbone teachers in Henan Province, and 4 academic and technical leaders in Henan Education Department. The college has established a long-term cooperative relationship with Miami University, Tsinghua University, Tongji University, Tianjin University, Xi'an University of architecture and technology, South China University of technology, Henan Academy of Architectural Sciences, Henan Institute of ancient architectural protection, Beijing General Research Institute of building materials science, etc. in terms of academic research, technical cooperation and personnel training, and also hired a number of off campus personnel Experts, as part-time professors in our college, cooperate to carry out postgraduate training. At present, there are 28 master's degree subjects in Henan Province, including civil engineering and geotechnical engineering, history and structural engineering, civil engineering and disaster prevention.
