Jiyuan is an old revolutionary base area. During the Anti Japanese War and the war of liberation, it was an important channel and strategic hub for the people's army to go south to the Central Plains and north to Shanxi and Shaanxi. Many troops crossed the Yellow River and went south or North from here. Party members and comrades came to Wulongkou, Jiyuan, to watch the Memorial Exhibition of Zhu De's leaving Taihang. They learned the red history, experienced the hardships of the revolution, more deeply felt the history, and inspired a strong patriotic enthusiasm. During the Anti Japanese War, commander-in-chief Zhu De walked out of Taihang Mountain and wrote the seven character quatrains "going out of Taihang Mountain". The path was zigzag and rugged, showing the lofty spiritual pursuit and ideals of the Communists, which set up a silent monument for us. All Party members review the oath of joining the party under the banner of the party and feel the arduous course of the revolutionary ancestors in the Anti Japanese war. On the way out of Taihang trail of commander-in-chief Zhu again, Wu Baobao and Li Bin, combined with the geological features along the line, explained to all Party members and teachers how to identify lithology, how to judge fault strike and tendency, etc.; all Party members and teachers not only felt that it was not easy for the old generation of revolutionaries to wade mountains and rivers, but also had a lively engineering geological practice class.
For Party members, this theme party day activity is a physical exercise, a professional improvement and a spiritual baptism. Comrades have expressed that under the correct leadership of the college Party committee, they will base themselves on their own work, practice the revolutionary spirit, fulfill the obligations of Party members, cultivate more engineering and technical talents with both political integrity and ability for the motherland, and make their due contributions to the construction and development of the College.
